Who we are

Sonoma Napa Wine Tours provides private chauffeured transportation for wine tasting in Napa Valley and Sonoma County. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Sonoma Napa Wine Tours.

What we collect, and when

When you request a quote

Our quote form is hosted on this website and submits directly to our own server. We ask for:

• Required: service date, number of guests, region, pickup location, first name, email address.
• Optional: last name, mobile number, approximate start time, approximate duration, vehicle preference, wineries you have already booked, and any other notes you choose to add.

The free-text fields are yours to fill as you wish. Please do not put payment card details, government identifiers or health information in them — we do not need any of that to quote a day, and we would rather it never reached us.

Marketing attribution

So we can tell which marketing actually brings people here, this site records how you arrived and attaches that to a quote request. Specifically:

• the path of the first and most recent page you landed on — never the full address, so nothing you typed into a search box or a query string is stored;
• the host of the site that referred you (for example google.com), not the full referring address;
• campaign tags if the link you followed carried them: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content;
• advertising click identifiers if present: gclid, gbraid, wbraid, msclkid, fbclid, ttclid, li_fat_id;
• the time you first arrived, and the page the form was submitted from.

This is held in your browser's local storage under the key snwt_attr_v1 for up to 90 days, and is sent to us only if and when you submit the quote form. If you never submit the form, it never leaves your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

This site sets no cookies. Local storage is used for the single purpose above and for nothing else.

What our server records

When the quote form is submitted, our server writes one line to an operational log to help us troubleshoot delivery and block abuse. That line contains: the time, whether the submission succeeded, the region and guest count, whether an itinerary was supplied, the campaign tags above, whether an advertising click identifier was present, how long the form took to complete, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address that changes every day.

The log does not contain your name, email address, phone number, pickup address or anything you typed into a free-text field. Those appear only in the email described below.

Spam and abuse controls

The form includes a hidden field that people never see and automated software often fills in, a check on how quickly the form was completed, and a limit on how many submissions can come from one network in a short period — enforced using the daily hashed IP above. We do not use a CAPTCHA, so there is nothing for you to solve.

How your quote request is used

A completed quote request is emailed to our reservations inbox at reservations@sonomanapawinetours.com. The email is sent from our own domain, and your address is set as the reply address so we can answer you directly. We use what you send to prepare a quote, arrange your transportation, and communicate with you about it. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Who else sees it

The chauffeurs, vehicles and dispatch that fulfil a booking are provided by our underlying transportation operation, and the details needed to carry out your trip are shared with them for that purpose.

Our web hosting and email provider necessarily processes the data in transit and at rest as part of hosting this site and delivering our mail.

No payment details are collected by this website. If you go on to make a reservation, that is completed separately in our reservation management system, and any payment information is provided there rather than here.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Analytics

This website currently runs no analytics or tracking scripts of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no session recording and no third-party chat or review widget. The only measurement is the attribution described above, which stays on your device unless you submit the form. If that changes, this section will be updated before the change goes live.

Third-party content

Everything this site loads — fonts, styles, scripts and images — is served from our own domain. Your browser is not asked to contact any other company in order to display these pages.

How long we keep it

• Quote requests are kept in our reservations mailbox and, where a booking follows, in our reservation records, for as long as we need them for the trip, for our accounts and for any legal obligation.
• Operational logs are written monthly and kept only as long as they are useful for troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
• Attribution data expires from your browser after 90 days, or immediately if you clear your site data.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it, by emailing reservations@sonomanapawinetours.com. If you are a California resident you have specific rights under state privacy law, including the right to know and the right to delete. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in that law.

To make a request, email us from the address you used when you contacted us, and say what you want — a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. If we cannot match your request to a record, we may ask you for one further detail from that record so we are not handing your information to somebody else. We acknowledge requests within 10 days and respond within 45 days; if a request is complex we may take a further 45 days, and we will tell you before we do. We will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.

Deleting a booking record is not always possible in full. Where we have to keep something for our accounts or for a legal obligation, we will delete the rest and tell you what was kept and why.

You can stop the attribution described above at any time by clearing site data for this website, or by using your browser's private browsing mode.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging transportation. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change how this site handles information — including installing analytics, adding a booking integration, or adding any third-party script — we will update this page and change the effective date above.
